The Steamboat Art Museum was very proud to open its very first show in the First National Bank Building in downtown Steamboat Springs, CO, on December 23, 2006. This diverse exhibition features work from both past and present area artists and shows the range and depth of the visual arts in Northwestern Colorado over the years.
The Exhibition only happened because of collaboration with many groups, area businesses, and individuals who have so generously loaned artwork as well as labor and funds.
We would like to especially thank Colorado Group Realty and Wild Horse Galllery for sponsoring this show. We would also like to thank the city of Steamboat Springs, Mainstreet Group, Bill and Alma Kurtz, and Denny and Joy Swanson, who made it possible to open the doors to the public. A very heartfelt thank you to the generous Artists, who again have so enthusiastically supported this concept.
We are very pleased to have the work of Helen Rehder, who was a long time Steamboat area artist and who gave this building to the City to be used as a Museum. We think she would be pleased!
