THE FINAL RENOVATION PHASE IS AT HAND!
As we honor the past with our 10th Anniversary Celebration this winter, we ask you to share our excitement for the future. We look forward to completing the final phase of renovation of our home, one of Steamboat’s most historic landmark buildings, the First National Bank /Rehder Building. This will be the first time since occupying the building in 2006 that the Steamboat Art Museum will be able to fully utilize its home.
THE END IS IN SIGHT. PLEASE HELP US CLOSE THE GAP!
$100,000 additional is needed to complete this final $600,000 phase. Over, $1,300,000 has been raised since 2006 to save and restore one of Steamboat’s finest historic buildings. This provides an enhanced cultural center in the heart of our historic downtown, an inspiring venue for both public and private events. 9,000 square feet of Steamboat’s heritage will be open with extensive exhibition spaces, studio/workshop/ classroom spaces, an art resource library/conference room and administrative offices.
CONSTRUCTION BEGINS IN APRIL!
We will return the 1920 addition to its period of historic significance, when it was first built as the Northwest Auto Garage. Constructed from hewn stone from our quarry, local hand pressed red brick, and exposed timber beamed ceilings, this building will be renovated with the warmth and character our mountain environment inspires.
The expanded Gallery space enables SAM to present large, national exhibits, including already scheduled Oil Painters of America in 2018 and American Women Artists in 2019. Multiple concurrent smaller exhibits can also be hosted.
We thank all of those who have contributed to this project, both with generous funds and personal involvement. Please help us close the gap and open the doors to our exciting future with a donation to the capital fund.
The Steamboat Art Museum is a project of the Northwest Colorado Enterprise Zone. All donations of $250 and more are eligible for a Colorado income tax credit for 25% of the donation value.
