First Friday K-8 Student Art Show

Please join us for opening night of the Steamboat Springs School District K-8 student art show! Selected students from SPE, SCE, SGS, and SSMS will have artwork exhibited that draws inspiration from the current SAM exhibition: Wild West.

The show will be on display in the SAM library April 5-11, 2024.

The Steamboat Art Museum proudly presents “Wild West: Wildlife Masters, Past and Present,” a captivating showcase of artwork that vividly portrays the diverse and enchanting wildlife found in the western United States. This exhibition seamlessly bridges the gap between the past and the present, allowing visitors to appreciate the timeless beauty of the region’s fauna through the eyes of talented artists, both historical and contemporary. It offers a unique opportunity to explore the rich natural heritage of the American West through a stunning collection of wildlife art.

Housed in the iconic First National Bank/Rehder Building (1905/1920) and on the National Registry of Historic Places, Steamboat Art Museum is located in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs.  Established in 2006, the museum presents rotating exhibitions of artwork by living masters whose work is relevant to the culture and heritage of the West. The Steamboat Art Museum is accessible to all, open to everyone and admission is free.
